MATARIKI
Balmoral school is planning to celebrate Matariki festival next year with a feast. The organizing committee would like you to use a Maori root vegetable to develop and prepare a unique finger food that could be served at this festival and feast next year. The school community will be invited to this festival. 

TASK- Y8

TRANSFORMATION- SAME AS BLOCK 2

Some of the products  made include: potato and kumara pizza (these ingredients were used in the base as well as the toppings), kumara and potato buns, potato and kumara burgers, root vegetable canapes, root vegetable cakes and muffins, potato rockets, potato bites with aioli,

These are pictures of us trialling/testing our products and seeking stakeholder feedback. We look forward to refining and making our prototypes in cycle two.

BRIEF: There will be a farmers market next term. The organisers will like you to use your favourite raw food to develop and prepare a unique, nutritious/healthy product that could be sold at the farmers market.

YEAR 7 TOPIC- SUSTAINABILITY
BRIEF
The fruits in the school garden are ready for harvesting. The next farmers market or big day out is some months away. To prevent spoilage and to raise funds for the school, the sustainability group will like you to select the fruit of your choice to develop, prepare and package a unique jam or chutney that could be sold during the farmers market or big day out.
